We had a big weekend around here. Saturday morning, early on, we got ourselves together and went to see the Dragon Boat Races. This is the third year they've been in town and we decided to grab at any piece of Chinese culture we can find. Adeline loved it! We sat on the river and watched the races. Then we went to the kids' area and she got her face painted. She chose a star just like Roo in one of her books. But, get this, she petted a big snake too. There was no fear, just gentle petting. At one point the snake looked at her and stuck it's tongue in and out. It freaked me out, but she just pulled back a bit and kept on petting. At one point, while on Steve's shoulders, she said, "I'm having fun, guys!" Does it get any better than that?
