We Went to the Zoo

Here are my darlings at the end of our trip to the zoo.  They had so much fun!  Steve had some vacation time and no one was sick, so we got up early and headed to the zoo!  It was a spur of the moment thing and I'm so glad we went.

We started with the mingos (flamingos) and then we saw the butterflies.  One landed right on Adeline's yellow bow in her hair!  Ruby got one on her finger.  They didn't want to leave that part.  But, we moved on and got to visit the monkeys, the elephants, the tigers, and, you get the gist.  And...they got pony rides!  Ruby wasn't too keen at first, but then she warmed up.  Adeline kept kindly patting her pony as they rode.

Our last two stops were for ice cream, always a hit, and then the gift shop.  Adeline chose a giraffe and named is Lizzy.  Ruby chose an elephant and named it Podger.  Thus far both names have stuck and we've reenacted our zoo trip many times.
