The New BIG Thing

As you can see, Adeline both has a hard time falling asleep when everyone else is tired, and she loves her daddy.

Every day when it's time for a nap or she wakes up, she points to a picture on the wall. It is a picture of her mommy and daddy. Well, she points to Steve's face and smiles, then she cuddles into my shoulder. His face is covered with her tiny little finger prints.

While this is so sweet, it's NOT the Big New Thing. That happened this morning. So, here it is...

I was doing dishes and listening to Adeline babble and play. I peeked over to see what she was doing and I realized it was not babble at all. She was pointing to a picture of Steve and saying "Da-Da" with each point. She knew exactly who he was and that he has a name. She new that he was her Daddy. My heart melted while my hands were dripping dishwater on the kitchen floor. What a precious, wonderful treasure.

Now, just when will she learn "Ma-Ma"?
